By night, Dominick Cuccia is one of the world's greatest ambassadors for the art of rudimental drumming.  By day, he is a highly respected band director for the Paul Effman Music Service.  Originally created by teaching visionary, Paul Effman from Long Island, New York, the music service is one of the greatest music education programs in the world.  With school bands all across America there is virtually no place the Paul Effman Music Service can't teach.

How does it work?
At the beginning of the school year, a team of Paul Effmans' finest music teachers will visit your school and present an entertaining demonstration of the woodwind, brass and percussion instruments for students to choose from if they'd like to be a part of the school band.  All students (typically grades 3-8) will receive a band registration form with all of the information necessary to join.  After returning these forms the teacher will gather the information and create a band schedule perfect for your school.  Approximately two weeks after the initial demonstration the students will have their first of a school years worth of weekly lessons.

Why would a school need this service?
Unfortunately, many private and parochial schools do not have the budget for a school band.  Even public school are making band one of the first things they eliminate from their budget.  This is an extremely practical way to create a successful band program and insure that every child grows up with music education in their life.

How can I start a band program at my school?
If you are a school administrator, call Lou Varuzzo at 845-452-8528.  Lou is one of the most knowledgable music educators on the planet and he can give you all of the information necessary to start a band right away.
If you are an interested parent, please let your school know about the Paul Effman Music Service.  You can share the music service's website (http://www.pemusic.com),  give them Lou Varuzzo's phone number (845-452-8528), have them visit this site to see Dominick's thoughts, and let them know that you believe every student deserves to have music education in their life.

What does Dominick have to say about the Paul Effman Music Service?
"When I began teaching at the music service in 1999, I thought this was something I would do for a year or two and then move on to a public school.  That year or two has turned into 21 of the greatest years of my life.  I fell in love with the whole system and believe in bringing music to the lives of students who may never experience it otherwise.  I have seen thousands of student come through my band program and every year makes me appreciate the opportunity to share my musical life with theirs.  I've even hit the point where one of my former students is now working for the music service.  I would recommend Paul Effman Music to any school who is going without a band program.  I assure you it will be one of the best decisions you could possibly make and when your students rise at the end of a concert for the applause of the audience, you will know in your heart that you made the right decision!"

AND OF COURSE, IF YOU CONTACT THE PAUL EFFMAN MUSIC SERVICE, LET THEM KNOW THAT DOMINICK SENT YOU!
